*Somerhill is a registered early years free entitlement (EYFE) provider for 3 and 4-year-olds. All children (from the term following their 3rd birthday until the term of their 5th birthday) are eligible to receive a maximum of 15 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year, regardless of parental income. Parents are only able to claim for the number of full weeks in our academic year as designated by Kent County Council (KCC). Parents who do not use their full 15 hours may claim the difference through another registered provider. Please note that for children to be eligible for the EYFE funding discount, they must be in school between 9.25 – 12.25. Parents only wishing to access 15 hours EYFE will be offered 5 sessions from 9.25 – 12.25, subject to availability, until compulsory school age. Somerhill reserves the right to withdraw from the scheme at any time and will endeavour to give one term’s notice of any change.
** Depends on the length of term and number of full weeks eligible at 15 hours per week for EYFE and will be pro-rated depending on the number of sessions opted for. The lowest fee is for the Michaelmas Term and assumes full receipt of 15 hours maximum EYFE during specified sessions. Fees will be adjusted in arrears to reflect actual amounts paid by KCC and sessions attended.

Assisted places
Somerhill is committed towards improving access to the school by offering means-tested financial assistance to support eligible parents with the payment of school fees. Somerhill uses an independent company, Bursary Administration Limited (BAL), to review and assess all assisted place applications. This process involves the completion of a confidential application form, a home visit and provision of supporting documentary evidence to establish the financial circumstances of applicants. BAL will then make a recommendation to the Bursar for consideration. All assisted place awards will be reviewed on an annual basis and may be adjusted to reflect changes in parents’ circumstances. Please note that assisted places are only available for prep pupils (Year 3- 8) not pre-prep pupils.
Please contact our Bursar, Julian Hunt, on 01732 375954 for more information on the assisted places process at Somerhill.
Somerhill supports the Tonbridge Junior Foundation Scholar programme for Years 7 and 8. For more information on this, please contact Tonbridge School directly.
