Somerhill pupils from Years 5 and 6, along with special guests from Capel Primary School, were entertained by the talented Annelise Gray, author of the action-packed ‘Circus Maximus’ books. Annelise shared with them all of her inspirations for writing, from National Velvet to Ben Hur; explained how she researched the historical aspects of the books; and engaged them with fascinating facts about the Ancient Roman sport of chariot racing. After listening to a gripping extract from the first instalment in the series, the children had the opportunity to talk to Annelise and receive signed copies of the books.
