Last week the Mansion Hall rocked to the sound of riotous laughter as the Yardley Court Year Six boys performed ‘Shakespeare in Shorts’. Each form presented a 35-minute adaptation of a classic Shakespeare play, written and directed by Mr Little.
The first class kicked off the evening with the magical and mysterious Tempest and was followed by Shakespeare’s most famous romantic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. The evening was brought to a close with an adaptation of Shakespeare’s comedy, Much Ado About Nothing.
There was strength and depth everywhere on stage with every boy bringing their very best to their performances. The lively audience clapped, laughed, and cheered in genuine appreciation of the boys’ effort and skill.
One parent said, “It was great to see the boys supporting and enjoying each other’s performances, how confident the boys were on stage and how much they were clearly enjoying each performance.”
The boys should be very proud of their achievements!
