On Wednesday 10th July we hosted our Year 2 Celebration where parents and families were invited to join pupils and staff in the Bickmore Hall. During the afternoon, Mrs Mcknight, our Head of Pre-Prep, spoke to the children about how she was proud of everything they had achieved during their time at Somerhill, and how the fundamental skills they have learned can be taken with them into Year 3, prep school and beyond.

Each pupil showed tremendous courage as they took to the stage and spoke about their favourite memories of Somerhill. Mrs Mcknight then presented all the children with a book, ‘Big Ideas for Curious Minds’, which will remind them to stay curious and to keep asking questions as they continue their learning journey.

The event was bookended by two wonderful musical performances where the children’s confidence and courage shone through. The final performance was a touching song delivered directly to the teaching and TA team, thanking them for all their hard work and dedication – there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

A huge well done to everyone for reaching this educational milestone and we wish you all the best of luck for the future.
