The Senior Carol Service, held at St Augustine’s Chapel, Tonbridge School, is one of our favourite events in the school calendar and this year was no exception.
The singing was glorious throughout: our two soloists opened the service with an ethereal ‘Once in Royal David’s City’; both the Derwent Lodge carol ‘O Holy Night’ and Yardley Court’s ‘Ring out the bells’ were performed beautifully by the school choirs; and the adult choir added harmony to the congregational carols. The flute group and choristers gave us further musical inspiration, as did Mr Julian Thomas’ magnificent organ playing throughout.

“Events like this one remind me why I love music.” – former pupil.
We have so much to be thankful for here at Somerhill and the service was, as ever, inspiring and joyful: we appreciated being able to celebrate together as a school community in such magical surroundings.
