Reception trip to Cranbrook
Hop hop hoping to Cranbrook

Reception children went back in time as they visited Cranbrook Museum and Union Mill. At the museum, they learnt about the fascinating history of hop farming in Kent through various artefacts, including a hop press from a local farm. They were amazed to find out that for some families in London, hop picking in Kent was their summer holiday!

At Union Mill, the children climbed to the top to see the enormous sails. They also saw some of the old technology used to grind corn into flour, which was present on each level of the mill. The children were able to grind some flour, which they took back to school to bake some delicious bread.
