In response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, we joined schools around the country to demonstrate our support for the Ukrainian people.
All children and staff in Yardley Court and Derwent Lodge walked as a community around the school and parkland for a total distance of 3km, one kilometre for each week of the conflict. Reception, Years 1 & 2 and also participated in a shorter distance walk around the parkland.

The whole school then came together to hold up coloured card to create the Ukrainian Flag, and participated in a minute’s silence to think about those children affected in the conflict.

Many thanks to those in the community who sponsored their child for this event.

So far we have raised nearly £9,000 through our Just Giving Page, and our governors will add £2,000 followed by the government who will match the total raised again.
