This term twelve budding rookie lifeguards took to the water to learn about water safety, first aid and experience new life skills.
Over the term they have successfully completed a number of tasks and challenges, including using pool equipment to rescue a casualty in the water, basic first aid skills including CPR, a range of different lifesaving adapted swimming strokes and even making a floatation device out of a t-shirt and pair of shorts.
Following their final assessment, it was fantastic to award all twelve children with their Bronze Level 1 Rookie Lifeguarding Award certificate and badge. Well done all!
Next term the same children will hope to make a splash, taking on the next challenge of the Bronze Level 2 Rookie Lifeguarding Award.
