On Friday 27th September, our Somerhill community came together to thank Mark Pluck, our Porter, who is celebrating 40 years at Somerhill.
Mark joined Somerhill (then Yardley Court) in 1984 as a 16-year-old boy and has worked with us ever since. A firm favourite of all our children and staff alike, further confirmed by the rapturous cheers and applause he received during Friday afternoon’s celebration assembly, Mark can always be seen around the site offering a friendly hello and a smile to everyone he meets.
Duncan Sinclair, Headmaster of Somerhill, said, “Mark’s tenure at Somerhill is hugely impressive and evidence of a wonderful commitment to the school. I am sure all our Somerhill community joins me in thanking Mark for his 40 years of service.”
In the celebratory assembly, Mark was presented with an engraved glass clock, a card and a cake. We were delighted to be joined by former Chair of Governors Diane Huntingford, who shared stories of her time working with Mark and some very special moments they shared over the last 40 years.
Thank you Mark for everything you have done during your time here at Somerhill!
