Saturday saw the 1st team play in the New Beacon 7 a side tournament. Finishing 3rd in our group, we faced Saint Ronan’s in the quarter finals with the winners progressing to the cup. After controlling the game we couldn’t find the crucial goal and the game went to penalties. We unfortunately struggled from the spot and lost the shoot out meaning we entered the plate competition.

A comfortable win against Dulwich Prep saw us play St Michaels in a competitive and enthralling final. 1-1 after 14 minutes, the game went to extra time but with a twist! Both teams had to take off their goalkeepers for the first 3 minutes. With no breakthrough another player was pulled off and eventually Harry B scored the winner with a cracking free kick to bring the plate back to Somerhill.
