Year 3 children were fortunate to enjoy an amazing trip to Colchester Zoo last week. Having studied animal habitats and the biodiversity of the rainforest this term, the variation of animals at the zoo was a great way to support their school learning.
The children took part in a ‘Rainforest Workshop’ where they wowed the teacher with their fantastic knowledge of the layers of the rainforest and the animals residing within them.
The rest of the day was spent exploring the zoo, observing lazy lions, sleepy sloths and giant giraffes, amongst many more. As always, lunch and the adventure playground were also highlights of the day!
The journey home was definitely a quieter affair, with some tired out and fun filled boys and girls taking the opportunity to grab a nap before returning to school.
