Our Junior Carol Concert was held at St Stephens’ Church, Tonbridge. Year Three and Four children rose to the occasion with clear and expressive individual readings and beautiful singing from the Junior Choirs.

Derwent Lodge sang beautifully: ‘Hooray in a Manger,’ an arrangement of ‘Away in a Manger’ was coupled with another melody, each sung separately and woven together by the children at the end.

The boys’ song ‘Tonight’ conveyed a joyous mood, lifting the church with jubilant singing combined with an energetic bit of clapping dotted throughout.

The children’s final song ‘Holy Infant Child’ truly delivered the spirit of Christmas. Throughout this beautiful song ran complex harmonies, seamless transitions between the girls and boys, and moments of silence which drew you in, culminating in an enchanting ending. – Mrs Vidler
