Gambian Projects Overseas was formed by a collection of like-minded friends to fund projects all over The Gambia. They have been involved in the construction and maintenance of schools, electricity and water supply, solar energy supply, small business support, teacher training, sponsorship, IT resource and training (inc computer donations).
In 2018 the Trustees decided, due to increase demand in the local community, to build a completely new school and, in the last 2 years, despite the pandemic, Gambian Projects Overseas has been able to build two new classrooms for this new school in the district of Sinchu in The Gambia, West Africa.
“We are very grateful for the support Somerhill has given us in the donation of desks and chairs. As you can see from the pictures they are already being put to good use. As many charities have found in these difficult times, funding and resources have been difficult to maintain, so thank you!” – David Bennie, Chairman of Trustees.
