Year 8’s recently took part in the Institute of Engineering and Technology’s (IET) Faraday Challenge. Across the day they worked in teams to identify a problem for trains and train stations for Network rail, before building prototypes of a solution that they designed themselves.

From doors that fold down to form a ramp for wheelchair access, to a ticket system that will suggest alternative routes if your planned journey or station is congested, they thought of it all. Well done to all participants, we await the IET’s verdict on which team won the day.
