Sports Day
Sports Day is roaring success!

Despite the postponement of Sports Day last week, our eagerly anticipated end-of-term Sports Day at Somerhill brought together our boys and girls and their families for an exciting display of sporting talent and healthy rivalry. Over the course of the day, they competed in nine field events and ten track events, showcasing their skills, determination, and sportsmanship. The event highlighted the collective spirit and talent within our school community, with a vibrant atmosphere and impressive performances the day was a resounding success. Congratulations to this year winners of our Victor Ludorum Prizes and our overall house winners Ashmore and Coniston.

“As well as evoking feelings of triumph and failure, Sports Day often tests pupils’ resilience, endeavour and perseverance. The beauty of athletics is that you are competing against a stop watch or tape measure, rather than your peers, and doing your best is always good enough and I feel our pupils excelled at this throughout the day. We must also recognise the wonderful support shown by our staff and parent body; such a fantastic example of the school community coming together. As always, we appreciate the efforts of our grounds team in ensuring our lower terrace was looking outstanding!”
