House competitions began in earnest last week with the Spelling Bee finals taking place in year group meetings. The best two pupils from each House were chosen from the first round in form groups, then paired up in their year group assembly in a head-to-head knock-out spelling contest. While the competition was fiercely contested, all the pupils enjoyed the event which allowed our most talented orthographers to showcase their skills.
In Derwent Lodge, Grasmere won their event and in Yardley Court, Marques were triumphant. Congratulations to all pupils for having a go in round one, but especially the finalists for performing so well in front of their peers.
