IAPS Hockey Finals
11th November 2017

Derwent Lodge played a hard day's hockey at Millfield, but playing until the sun went down was worth it...

Our U11 team finished in 11th place overall nationally and 3rd in the Plate Competition. Fantastic results and super medals! There were 28 teams at the National Finals, whittled down from the 261 teams that entered regional rounds across the country.
The team played superbly all day long, having only 5 minutes each way per game to make their mark. They won 1 match (vs the overall winners St George's!), drew 3 and lost 2 in the group stages.

Derwent Lodge made it through to the plate playoff stages, fighting for 9-16th place, then 9th-12th after winning their next game.

Top 10 wasn’t quite meant to be and the team faced local school Hawthorns in their final match of the day, with 11th place and a medal up for grabs. A 2-0 victory secured their final win and the team ended a long but exciting and emotional day on a real high.

Congratulations Kayla, Hannah, Charlotte, Lily, Bella, Ella, Amber, Hettie, Florence and Nia!
