Rawlinson Run & ESAA XC
4th October 2016

Years Two, Three and Four enjoyed running against a lot of local schools in the Rawlinson Run on Monday afternoon. With blue skies and bright sunshine, Year Two started the afternoon with speed and stamina. They were overall winners in their age group! Brilliant! Derwent Lodge Years Three and Four kept the pace up and both placed 3rd, with Yardley Court Year Three hot on their heels in 3rd and Year Four achieving a speedy 2nd. An excellent achievement, with stand out performances from Matthew, Neve, Niamh, James and Tristan:

Matthew - Silver in Year Two Boys.

Neve & Niamh - Bronze in Year Three & Year 4 Girls.

James - 4th in Year Three Boys.

Tristan - Gold in Year Four Boys.

Well done to all of our Somerhill runners. Their excellent results combined to make The Schools at Somerhill the strongest school at the competition and winners of the Rawlinson Shield. What a team!

We have an album of photos here.

...and Congratulations to Yardley Court's U13 team, running in the first round of the English Schools Athletics Association Cross Country Championship on the very same afternoon. All of our boys finished at the top end of the field, with Fin best placed in 3rd on a very tough course. Yardley Court scored 36 points; enough to beat Dartford Grammar School's 43. The team are looking forward to the regional final, hosted at Somerhill on November 12th.
